Finding Your Right Tribe to Thrive
One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned from my husband, Mark, is this: “Life becomes more meaningful when surrounded by meaningful relationships”. As women, especially as Work-at-Home Moms (WAHMs) and Stay-at-Home Moms (SAHMs), we often juggle so many responsibilities that we forget one crucial thing—we are not meant to do life alone.
Having the right tribe—a supportive group of like-minded women—makes all the difference. It’s not just about friendship; it’s about growth, encouragement, and shared success. The right people around you will lift you up, remind you of your worth, and push you to be the best version of yourself.
Here are three powerful lessons I’ve learned about the importance of finding the right tribe:
A Good Tribe Supports Your Growth
A true tribe doesn’t just cheer for you—they challenge you to grow. They celebrate your victories, uplift you in moments of doubt, and remind you of your potential when you need it most. When you surround yourself with women who are striving for better—whether in marriage, parenting, business, or personal growth—you naturally start leveling up, too.
I feel incredibly blessed to have amazing people in my life—people who lift me up, correct me when I’m wrong, and guide me in every path I take. But this didn’t happen by chance. I intentionally chose the people I wanted to influence me, just as I made the conscious decision to distance myself from toxic relationships.
At the end of the day, we choose our tribe—whether they push us forward or hold us back. The question is, are you surrounded by the right ones?
A Good Tribe Keeps Your Grounded
Life has its ups and downs, and there will be days when you feel exhausted or discouraged. The right tribe reminds you of your purpose and helps you regain perspective. They offer encouragement, wisdom, and a listening ear—without judgment.
Being a mompreneur is not easy. I’ve spoken to many women who have lost their passion and dreams along the way, overwhelmed by the challenges of business, finances, and managing a home. But remember this—you are never alone in this journey. As a mom of four, I know exactly how it feels. That’s why having a supportive community is so important—people who will remind you of your ‘why’ and stand by you when things get tough.
In fact, I’m working to make "shower parties" for mompreneurs a norm in the tribe I belong to. Because why should women only be celebrated on their wedding day or when they have a newborn? I believe in showers of blessings for women who take the leap into entrepreneurship—especially when it’s a nation-building project. Yes, starting a business is just as life-changing, and it deserves to be honored.
A Good Tribe Opens Doors of Opportunity
The right connections can open doors to incredible opportunities. Whether it’s through collaboration, mentorship, or simply learning from someone’s journey, a strong network helps you move forward. Many women have found their best business ideas, ideal clients, and even lifelong friendships within the right tribe.
There’s a famous saying: “If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.” But here’s the key—you have to find the right “together.” Not everyone shares the same motives, vision, or heart as you do.
I remember partnering with MK, a fellow wife and mompreneur. From the moment we met, there was no sense of competition—only shared purpose and mutual support. We both believed in empowering Filipina women, and that alignment allowed us to collaborate, uplift each other, and create opportunities that benefited both of our platforms—not just individually, but together.
When you surround yourself with people who share your vision, lift you up, and genuinely want to see you win, success becomes a shared journey—not a solo struggle.
